Design for The Pirated Software

Today, what I want to intervene in are the phenomena that the pirated software so popular from schools to companies in China except for the policy influence? I would like to show 3 concepts from different perspectives: personal, marketing and education.

For numb individual users, they always think that there is no difference between genuine and pirated, so I made a program, import usage, bugs&breakdown analysis, psychological effect and so on. The program can generate a report of the time saved every week if using genuine software. This result can shock the numb.

My second concept is an ironic poster similar to a letter of marque for privateer for those leading software companies because of their marketing strategies in China.

I design this poster for a company called Harmony. I got the inspiration from China high-speed rail which benefits from the Forced Technology Transfer policy. So the China Government will buy out all the software technology, kick those companies out from China market and then sell it to Chinese users at a low price.

The third concept is selling software in a vending machine. The goal is to help the students understand that genuine software is accessible like daily item. My approach is to put adobe’s one day plan into an empty can and selling it in a vending machine. My next step is to cooperate with Coca-Cola to recycle the empty cans that the project use. Then go to the campus to test and check the students' reactions.
